The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League made the right decision
when they awarded Edmonton's second senior franchise to the
St. Albert Rams.
On the floor the Rams brought in home grown players like
Mike Koch, Kris Partington, Jesse Wright and Conrad Hope,
filled the roster with experienced leaders like Chris Sherbanuk
and Jackson Heng and solidified the team with solid goaltending
from Chris Standing and Mike Cole. A slow start to the season
and a tendency to start slow out of the blocks was the Rams'
Achilles heel for most of the season, but late season victories
over the Red Deer Rage and Prince George Posse paved the
way for a strong finish to the season.
The Rams organization is looking forward to next year because
of the strong positions they hold in the RMLL's Senior Entry
Draft. Current Edmonton Miners team leaders and St. Albert
talent like Paul Koch, Graham Hartl and Jeremy Richardson
all move up to Senior next season.
From an off - floor perspective the Rams would like to thank
all of their sponsors who helped make this huge season possible.
Special thanks go out the Fraternal Order of Eagles for their
support. Nitza's Pizza was a prominent part of the intermission
events, Groundwater Communications put together the nicest
programs in the RMLL and Worldprofit.com the designer of the
website, StAlbertRams.com were all integral to an excellent
first season.
Finally, huge thanks must go out the fans and volunteers
that made each home game an exciting event to attend. See
you next year!
